The Compagnia Italiana della Moda e del Costume is a young Company, heir to the historic BRANCATO Theater Tailoring atelier, whose history is closely related to. We recovered the historical heritage of Brancato Tailoring at the end of 2017 and, during the first three years of activity, we consolidated partnerships with important costume Designers and theaters, also starting new experiences not only in the theater field.
We took advantage of the great experience acquired from the previous history, and our goal was immediately to propose high quality and attention to details, which was the main feature of the Brancato Tailoring. Goal achieved thanks to our staff made up of historical “faces and hands” of Brancato tailoring along with the recovery of great professionals, as in the case of the male cut.
The historical experience in the creation of theatrical costume combined with important new partnership, has allowed us to consolidate relationships in Italy and abroad and to broaden them in the theatrical and television field by creating, among others, productions such as:
“Le Trouvère” Opera for the Verdi Festival in Parma 2018, Directed by Bob Wilson, costumes by Julia Won Leliwa
The Hoi Rang Ballet for the Korean National Ballet in Seoul, costumes by Luisa Spinatelli
The “Mary Poppins” Musical directed by Federico Bellone, costumes by Chiara Donato
“Shakespeare in Love” prose for the Shiky Theater Company in Tokyo directed by Gao Aoki, costumes by Lella Diaz
The RAI “Danza con me” broadcast by Roberto Bolle.
In these first years of activity, in addition to the theater, we started to weave new ties by putting our skills at the service of various projects related to fashion and beyond. Among these, it is certainly worth mentioning the birth of the important collaboration with Maestro Christian Tagliavini for the creation of the costumes for his wonderful art posters (art Blow-ups), that leave the viewer enchanted and fascinated in front of the minutiae of details and the grandeur and beauty of the shot. In addition, we want to train artisans, tailors of the show.
